Tata Tiago EV

In September 2022, Tata Motors introduced its most affordable electric vehicle, the Tiago EV, in India. The electric hatchback costs between Rs 8.69 and Rs 11.99 lakh (India, ex-showroom). The vehicle is offered in four different variants: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech LUX.

The Tata Tiago EV is mechanically propelled by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with two battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The 19.2kWh battery cell provides a 250km range on the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC). In contrast, the 24 kWh battery cell provides an estimated MIDC range of 315 kilometers. With this, the Tata Tiago EV generates 74 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate from zero to sixty kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds.

Tata Tigor EV

The Tata Tigor EV is the second least expensive vehicle on this list. The electric version of the compact sedan costs between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh (India, ex-showroom). The automobile is offered in XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech LUX configurations. A 26kWh lithium-ion battery powers the permanent magnet synchronous motor to generate 74bhp and 170Nm of torque.

Tata Nexon EV Prime and Max

Another Tata model appears on this list. The Nexon EV lineup is priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 20.04 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line model. The compact electric SUV is offered in three variants: XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX. The Nexon EV Prime’s 127 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque are generated by a 30.2 kWh Lithium Ion Polymer battery cell. Alternatively, the Nexon EV Max is equipped with a 40.5kWh lithium-ion battery cell that generates 141 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.

Mahindra XUV400

The newly introduced Mahindra XUV400 is the fourth least expensive vehicle on this list. The price range for the electric SUV is between Rs 15,99 lakh and Rs 19,19 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric motor in the Mahindra XUV400 will be propelled by a 39.4kW lithium-ion battery pack. The vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.3 seconds. The XUV400 is offered in two variant configurations, EC and EL.

MG ZS EV

Next on this list is the MG ZS EV, which costs between Rs 22.98 lakh and Rs 26.99 lakh. The MG electric SUV is offered in exciting and Exclusive trim levels. There are two battery pack options available for the vehicle: 44.5kWh and 50.3kWh. At 3,500rpm, the 44.5kWh version’s three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor generates 141 horsepower and 353 Newton meters of torque. The larger battery cell produces 174 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.
