Although Android 14’s stable release is almost here, we still have to wait a few more weeks until the general public can use it. In order to allow enthusiasts and regular users to provide last-minute comments, Google today issued the final pre-release build in the form of Beta 5 in order to get ready for this important change. It’s time for developers to get their apps ready for the new OS because the fifth beta build includes finalized SDK and NDK APIs and app-facing system behaviors, as predicted.
Beta 5 includes a number of improvements and fixes that weren’t present in Beta 4.1 at the conclusion of the previous month. As Google closes down the Android Beta Program in advance of the public release of Android 14, the build did not see any significant user-facing improvements.
According to Google, the final beta version is also a “release candidate” build, which denotes that the compilation is ready to advance to the stable level, assuming no issues arise.
